Geodetic domes

Geodetic domes

The "Tensint Geodesic Domes" are spatial reticular structures with double curvature, made using technology based on precise geometric calculations, with a five or six-segment layout, subdividing the various circumferences into a decreasing number of parts up to the ridge, thus allowing them to be covered with either textile or rigid materials.

Tensint Geodesic Domes solve the problem of covering large areas with diameters of up to 100 metres, creating an "open space" that can be fully used and modified.

This type of structure has several varieties of types including:

  1. Coperture with external or hanging membrane.
  2. Rigid coperture using insulated panels, polycarbonate or glass

Lattice frame made of specially dimensioned rods with a circular profile, connected and bolted at their ends by means of joints or knots.

The joints or knots consist of forged caps made of quality steel.
Holes are drilled in the joints to accommodate the screw used to secure the rod.

Corrosion protection is achieved by:

  1. hot-dip galvanisation
  2. electrolytic galvanisation and/or epoxy and polyurethane powder coating on request.

Finally, it should be noted that the cover is generally made of polyester fabric, coated on both sides with PVC treated with type 1 class B-s1, d0.
The cover can also be overlapped to the structure or to the nodes of the grid with special hooks formed by double tear-off discs and tensioned with chain cables.
